1. What is the backstory of the band? How did it get formed?

I think three of us had a first meeting in the end of 2004. After a first jam session it became clear that we want to form a band. Well this truly was a project from the beginning. Except Andi, we others had no experiences in playing in a band ;-) Maybe another reason for the long years we let go without any progress.

2. What was the reason for using the band name "Larceny"?

We searched a name that was working for us at that time. And of course it should be possible to interpret some “metal-backround” into this name...

3. You recently released a new album called "My Fall". Can you tell the readers something about the concept of the album?

The concept was easy. We had a certain budget and our ideas. Fortunately Anna came across Achim Lindermeir and so he recorded and mixed us. Finally Achim sent our tapes to Viper Olman for Mastering. All in all 6 rookies made a tight metal album with 2 experienced pros;-)

4. What message do you want to send with the new songs?

I think we don’t wanna send any messages. Who are we? These are only parts of our lifes or problems. Some people write diaries and we write songs.
Of course every song has got a message but I think this is very sentimental for every person.
And there are also two or three songs that tell an awful story;-)

5. Are you currently planning a "My Fall-Support" tour? If you could play one festival this year, which one do you wish it should be?

We are planning a few shows this year. But a complete tour isn’t easy to plan for an underground band like we are. If we could play only one Festival this year, I think we’d prefer Wacken in Germany. Of course we would never refuse a request from the Metaldays (Slovenia) or the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) or any other festival.

6. What are the main influences when writing new music?

Every Metal band was affected by Metallica – in a way. As I Lay Dying and Trivium are influences too. At last there are also a lot of European bands that affected us. Bands like Kreator, Primordial, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban and so on.
Hmm yes these are some of the bands we listen to but often it’s only a single word or two notes of a melody that lead to new idea.

7. What was your biggest "band-moment" ?

Difficult. Hmmm maybe the moment when we were listening the rough mix for the first time. This was the last recording day and sat together in the studio on Sunday evening. That was cool, somehow.

8. What is your favorite song on "My Fall" and do you have a favorite lyrical line?

Ha, that’s funny. A few weeks or months ago we sat in rehearsal and we were discussing about lyrical lines. I think we have no line in common. We are 6 persons and we’ve got sometimes real different opinions. Our moments of harmony are well counted ;-)

9. What are your plans for this year exactly?

It’s as we told before. We’re planning a few smaller shows in some cozy clubs and maybe one bigger thing. I think there’ll be a coach journey to Stuttgart together with our friends and fans. That’s the bigger thing ;-)

10. Do you have any shout-outs to give to the readers?

We do not give any sermons. We don’t want you to do something or not to do it. And there is nothing you have to believe or you have not to believe. But feel free to listen to our songs. If you like it, that's cool! And if you hate it, that’s life.
If you’ll find a message that helps you in any way, that's also cool! If not, that’s life… cheers.
